GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Sous Chef to join one of Malta's leading restaurants.

Your Responsibilities

  • Overseeing kitchen operations and guiding the kitchen brigade.
  • Coordinating with the Head Chef.
  • Supervising kitchen employees, facilities, and costs to ensure maximum profit.
  • Ensuring high
  • quality production, preparation, and presentation of food.
  • Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene.
  • Conducting interviews, hiring, performance appraisals, and coaching.
  • Liaising with management on food par stocks and market lists.
  • Inspecting all perishable food items received.

Required Skills

Ideally, the candidate should be able to direct and plan food preparation while managing and supervising other kitchen staff members. Strong time management, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to delivering consistent food quality are essential. Proficient communication skills in English, including articulate verbal communication with proper grammar, are required.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should be a graduate of cooking courses and HACCP-certified, with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role being an asset.
