Senior Accounting Executive

GCS Malta is seeking to recruit a Senior Accounting Executive to work with an accounting service provider with both local and international clients. Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, the chosen candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of clients as well as responsible for the preparation of various accounting procedures.
Your Responsibilities
- Responsible for a portfolio of clients
- Handling of client requests
- Preparing and reviewing monthly VAT returns and VAT recapitulative statements
- Preparing and reviewing management accounts
- Liaising with the auditors
- Dealing with audit queries and related matters
- Technically develop and mentor the junior accountants
- Delegating tasks to junior accountants and reviewing work to ensure quality control
- Meeting with clients forming part of the portfolio and attending to their requests and queries
Required Skills
The chosen individual must have excellent proficiency in both written and verbal English. Teamworking abilities, adaptability, prioritization skills as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines is also a must.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate must have at least 2-3 years of experience working in a client accounting role, a university degree in accounting and/or an ACA/ACCA qualification. Sound knowledge of IFRS and GAPSME reporting standards is a must. A good knowledge of standard software packages is also a must. Experience in payroll and QuickBooks will be considered an asset.
