Assistant Accounting Manager

GCS Malta is seeking to recruit an Accounting Assistant Manager to work with an accounting service provider with both local and international clients. The chosen candidate will report to the Manager.

Your Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the Accounting department and ensuring that all major projects are completed
  • Planning for the successful completion of daily tasks
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with clients
  • Developing staff by providing ongoing training
  • Assisting in the formulation of professional development
  • Providing technical training to junior members of staff
  • Establishing and enforcing proper Accounting and Tax methodology, policies, and principles
  • Assisting the Manager to identify inefficiencies in workflow

Required Skills

The ability to work within a team and possess strong interpersonal skills is a must. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English is also a must. Knowledge in any additional languages is considered an asset.

Qualifications and Experience

One must have at least 4 years’ experience in a client accounting role and have strong knowledge of the IFRS and GAPSME reporting standards as well as the Income Tax Act and the Value Added Tax Act.
